The journey from Yuncheng to Wei City isn’t actually that far.

The two cities are separated by a large river; once you cross the bridge, you’re in Wei City.

Driving north from Silver Bay Gardens, they didn’t encounter too much deep water along the way, so it could be considered relatively smooth.

Lin Qianhuan gripped the steering wheel, avoiding direct conflict with the zombies that swarmed around them along the way.

With limited time, there was no need to waste it on fighting.

The seats in the front of the car provided some cushioning, but the people in the back of the truck suffered.

Inside the spacious and empty truck bed, there was nothing to hold onto, and any bumps in the road sent them swaying left and right, making it impossible to stay steady.

One young girl was thrown around until her face was pale, and stomach acid surged up her throat.

“Can’t Lin Qianhuan drive more smoothly? My brains are about to be scrambled.”

She clutched her chest in discomfort, feeling dizzy.

Lu Ying, wearing a mask, leaned against the wall with her back, currently resting with her eyes closed.

Hearing the complaints from the crowd, she frowned slightly.

“You’re lucky to have a ride at all. Did you want to walk to Wei City in search of supplies?”

Most of the cars in Silver Bay Gardens were private cars scavenged from Yuncheng. They had low chassis and were prone to stalling in deep water, making them unusable on rainy days.

Without Lin Qianhuan’s small truck, they might really have to venture out in the rain.

Lu Ying tapped the truck bed’s metal wall with her fingertip: “Don’t be so ungrateful. You’re all getting paid a lot of money. Can’t you even handle this little bit of hardship?”

Lu Shouzheng had hired these space-ability users at a high price to bring back as many medicines as possible.

He tried his best to meet their needs for housing and supplies, but who knew these people would complain about the transportation.

The man huddled in the corner of the truck bed pouted: “Can’t we even complain if the ride is uncomfortable? Lu Ying, what do you think got you to the upper echelons of the base? Isn’t it because you’re a Level 2 space-ability user? Space-ability users are rare, is it wrong to want better treatment? Take a look, which resource-gathering team doesn’t treat space-ability users like royalty? How come, in our Silver Bay Gardens, space-ability users are just laborers?”

Lu Ying opened her eyes, her gaze cold: “What got me to the upper echelons of the base? My tireless search for supplies day and night, my relentless hunting of zombies. My quick thinking, and my ideas that benefit the construction of the safe haven. You’re also a space-ability user, so why am I in the upper echelons and you’re not? Why don’t you look for the reason within yourself?”

The man was choked by her words, his face swelling and turning red in the dim space.

He chuckled, speaking in a nonchalant tone: “Why can’t I get to the upper echelons of the base? Because I’m a man, not a woman who can climb up by spreading her legs. Who knows what methods some people used to become this team leader? Tch, really thinks she’s something special?”

Lu Ying, hearing his words, didn’t get angry, but silently pulled out a dagger from her space.

The blade was sharp, making its sharpness impossible to ignore even in the dim truck bed.

“Men with no ability can only try to make themselves feel better by spreading rumors about women. You must be working hard to maintain your pitiful self-esteem.”

She flicked her wrist slightly, and the dagger spun lightly in her hand.

“Fighting and killing are prohibited within the base. But Liu Yong, guess what, if I kill you outside, will anyone punish me when I go back?”

Liu Yong shrank into the corner, nervously swallowing his saliva.

The space-ability users in the truck bed sensed the tense atmosphere between the two and stepped forward to mediate.

“Stop arguing, we’re all working for the entire safe haven now, we can’t kill each other.”

Liu Yong naturally knew he was in the wrong and understood that he couldn’t beat Lu Ying with his mediocre skills.

After all, this woman was a provincial Sanda champion, and if she really went crazy, he wouldn’t get any advantage.

But even so, Liu Yong didn’t want to lose face.

He coughed lightly: “Forget it, forget it, a good man doesn’t argue with a woman, I won’t bother arguing with some people.”

Lu Ying’s face was cold, and she continued to close her eyes to rest.

As a senior member of the base, it wasn’t right for her to kill other survivors of the base in front of everyone.

Although it was a little frustrating, she put the big picture first and put the dagger back into her space.

With Liu Yong around, they could bring back more medicine and save more people.

Lu Ying knew what was more important.

Lin Qianhuan didn’t care about the conflict in the truck bed. All she needed to do was bring them back to Silver Bay Gardens safely.

As long as nobody died, it wasn’t a big deal if these people were missing an arm or a leg.

Although the road was bumpy, they arrived safely.

Driving into a small county town in Wei City, Lin Qianhuan spotted a pharmacy.

She drove closer to take a look and found that the door of the pharmacy had been smashed open, and the medicines inside had been swept clean.

Rubbing her temples with a headache, she continued to drive the car to look.

There were only a few pharmacies in this small county town, but most of them had already been “visited” by the survivors living around here.

The truck circled around the county town, but they couldn’t find a pharmacy to loot.

Lin Qianhuan had a headache: “The pharmacies here have all been looted. We won’t get anything even if we go in. We can only go further in and look elsewhere.”

Lin Yixuan raised his hand to wipe the fog from the car window: “These days, most of the pharmacies are empty. Even if we go to the city center, how many pharmacies will have all the medicines?”

Just as Lin Qianhuan was about to reply, the truck was surrounded by people.

So many people!

She looked out through the rearview mirror and found that there were about 20 people, all holding cold weapons.

Figures overlapped, surrounding the truck in the middle.

“This isn’t good. This truck hasn’t been modified.”

Lin Qianhuan frowned slightly, but didn’t seem too flustered.

Just when she thought she couldn’t find any medicine, it came knocking at her door.

Why bother looking for it yourself when it’s delivered to you?

A shout came from outside the truck: “Everyone inside get out! Don’t make any small moves, or you’re dead!”

Lin Qianhuan slowly took out a raincoat and wrapped it around herself, handing another one to Lin Wansheng.

After they were dressed, they exchanged a look and opened the car door to jump out.

As soon as they appeared, they were surrounded, with several knives and axes held to their necks.

“Open the truck bed. If you dare to run or fight back, you’re dead!”

The leader was a man wearing a black raincoat, the brim of his hat pulled low, making it difficult to make out his face in the rain.

Lin Qianhuan raised her hands and obediently walked to the back of the truck, opening the locked door.
