“‘Alright, Miss Lin, don’t worry.’”
Lin Qianhuan nodded and raised the black plastic bag in her hand:
“‘I’m going to find Gu Liansheng first, and I will require him to have you take me to the warehouse to get the supplies. By then, everything will be revealed.’”
Liang Zhaoxi’s eyes grew teary:
“‘Thank you, Miss Lin.’”
Lin Qianhuan let out a light laugh:
“‘I’m not going to the warehouse just for you, so why thank me? Alright, I’m off.’”
She turned and headed toward Gu Liansheng’s office, which was located at the center of Free Radical, a place that before the apocalypse was a kindergarten.
Perhaps because Gu Liansheng had greeted the guards at the door, Lin Qianhuan walked through unimpeded.
Standing at the entrance to the base chief’s office, she raised her hand and lightly knocked on the door a few times.
“‘Please come in.’”
Lin Qianhuan twisted the door handle, only to see Gu Liansheng eating.
On the desk was a bowl of noodles, with several slices of meat arranged on top, whose grain did not look like chicken nor beef.

Lin Qianhuan placed the plastic bag from her hand on his desk, and the stench of blood hit her immediately.

Gu Liansheng, intoxicated, inhaled deeply the rich, bloody smell from the bag and discreetly swallowed.
He smiled, sunny and sincere:
“‘Naturally, for Sister Huanhuan, I always keep my word.’”
Lin Qianhuan unceremoniously yanked a chair over and sat down:
“‘Check the goods; once I finish dinner, I’ll go to the warehouse to collect the supplies.’”
Gu Liansheng raised his finger to peel open the plastic bag, indifferent to the blood stains on his fingertips, grabbed Luopu’s hair, and lifted his head out.
“‘This fellow was originally one of my most capable lieutenants, gifted with extraordinary talent and ability. Who would have thought that over a trivial matter he would turn against me—what a pity.’”
He sighed sadly, inserted the head back into the plastic bag, then rose and placed it into the freezer beside the bookshelf.
Lin Qianhuan’s eyes twinkled:
“‘You are quite something, placing a freezer in the office—anyone would think you ran a restaurant.’”
Hearing her say that, Gu Liansheng burst into hearty laughter, retrieved an ice cream from the freezer, and handed it to Lin Qianhuan.
“‘Inside, it’s all fruits, along with some little treats I usually enjoy. As the weather grows hotter, eating something cool can also refresh you.’”
Lin Qianhuan waved her hand in refusal:
“‘I don’t want it. You put that bloody head in there, and I find this ice cream dirty. You really are not picky—you put everything in the freezer.’”
Gu Liansheng did not force her; instead, he tore open the packaging by himself and stuffed the ice cream into his mouth for a bite.
“‘The space is so limited that placing two would be a waste. Besides, how many supplies in the apocalypse are clean? Aren’t survivors just wiping off the blood and grime before shoving them into their mouths?’”
Lin Qianhuan raised an eyebrow and laughed lightly:
“‘That’s true.’”
Holding the ice cream, Gu Liansheng strode towards her.
“‘Sister Huanhuan, I really like you. You are smart, beautiful, and capable. A woman like you has a fatal attraction for me. Will you be my girlfriend?’”
He extended his hand towards Lin Qianhuan, his fingertips still bearing the dried blood from Luopu.
“‘I will treat you well and keep you smiling forever.’”
Lin Qianhuan felt her fingertips being held, and as they gently swayed, it carried a hint of coquettish pleading.
She smiled helplessly, having forgotten that Jiang Xing was still in the room.
However, this fellow had concealed his supernatural ability fluctuations and was wearing an invisibility suit, so she truly hadn’t noticed his presence at the time.
“‘No, thank you.’”
Lin Qianhuan looked up at Gu Liansheng, her tone carrying a note of nonchalance.

Lin Qianhuan curled her lips into a light smile:
“‘I’ll go back and report my safety to my family. At 8 tonight, have Liang Zhaoxi come to find me and take me to the warehouse to collect the supplies.’”
“‘Alright, Sister Huanhuan, goodbye.’”
Gu Liansheng picked up the noodle bowl that had been left aside, picked up a piece of meat, and brought it to his mouth to savor slowly.
The noodles had become mushy, but the taste of the meat still left him utterly enchanted.

He was at a disadvantage in matters of affection, only able to look up at her, hoping to beg for more love from her.
It was precisely for this reason that Lin Qianhuan suddenly agreed to be with him.
After all, who would refuse a loyal little dog?
