Lin Qianhuan paused slightly, the spoon in her hand faltering, and hesitantly asked, “Are you exaggerating a bit?”

Wu Lin shook his head, “I’m telling the truth, Number 7 is just that lazy. Besides, to resist the erosion of the drug in his body, he can only drink the blood given by Yi Hao on time. Although it can delay the onset of the drug, it always has a significant impact on the body.”

He closed the book in his hand and solemnly thanked Lin Qianhuan. “I’ve also drunk Yi Hao’s blood. If it weren’t for the bowl of firefly grass juice you gave me, I might have become this guy’s puppet. Even if I hadn’t been controlled by Yi Hao, I’m afraid I would only be living in a daze, neither human nor ghost.”

Lin Qianhuan waved her hand, “No need to thank me, since I chose to let you join the team, these are all things I should do. Besides, you got the list of test subjects for me, which has already repaid that bowl of firefly grass juice.”

After speaking, she got up and took the bowl into the kitchen to wash it.

Unlike other residential areas, Prosperity Flower City has no restrictions on water usage, and the same goes for electricity. In contrast, ordinary residential areas have water and electricity supplied in three time slots: 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM, 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Outside of these time slots, the water and electricity are cut off, and only the searchlights on both sides of the street are lit.

Prosperity Flower City, on the other hand, is brightly lit every night, and the water in the swimming pool is clear and bright, even better in quality than the drinking water of the bottom-level survivors. This is the difference, and it is an insurmountable gap.

The temperature at noon can even reach above 40°C, but there are only two hours of electricity supply. Despite this, the bottom-level survivors still can’t afford the high electricity bills. Lin Qianhuan couldn’t imagine how many people would be baked to death by this drought.

After putting the cleaned dishes away, she got up, greeted Wu Lin, put on her hat and mask, and stepped out of the house.

The Kyoto base is too large, and the different areas are very far apart. In order to improve efficiency without being too noticeable, Lin Qianhuan took out a rusty bicycle from her Space. She had accidentally obtained it during one of her black-eat-black deals. Because it was too dirty and broken, she usually didn’t ride it, but it came in handy today.

After all, ordinary survivors in the base can only walk or pay to ride the public sightseeing bus besides bicycles.

Last night, Lin Qianhuan contacted Lu Jiasheng, who was on the road, using the communicator, and learned from him the location of Jiang Minhhui’s residence. As a water-type Superpower user, her role was maximized during the drought. Normally, she could earn a lot of crystal cores just by exporting drinking water, so Jiang Minhhui’s residence wasn’t too bad, but it was still a public rental house.

But luckily, she rented a room by herself, so she didn’t have to squeeze in with others.

Following the location, Lin Qianhuan stood in front of the unit door and painfully wiped her sweat. The building had 18 floors, and Jiang Minhhui happened to live in 1802. That’s right, since electricity was scarce now, the elevators in ordinary residential areas naturally couldn’t be used. Therefore, the lower the floor, the more expensive the rent. Jiang Minhhui was able to have a room to herself, probably because the floor was too high, so the rental pressure wasn’t too great.

Taking a deep breath, Lin Qianhuan resigned herself to climbing the stairs. The inside of the building was slightly dark, and the walls and floors were covered with dirty stains. There were even a few bags of household waste piled up in the corners. The weather was hot, and the high temperature baking made the smell directly hit the top of the head.

Lin Qianhuan covered her nose and climbed up, and the black short sleeves on her body were quickly soaked with sweat. The Spirit Spring water had been silently transforming her body, and climbing to the 18th floor wasn’t too difficult. However, the temperature was too high, which still made her a little dizzy.

Raising her hand and gently knocking on the door, a man opened the door. He looked Lin Qianhuan up and down, with a bit of inquiry in his eyes, “Who are you?”

“I’m looking for Jiang Minhhui.”

“Oh, she’s out on a mission and not here. She probably won’t be back until after 7 o’clock. You can wait in the living room for a while.”

Lin Qianhuan nodded, thanked him, and walked into the house.

Because it was the top floor, the roof was exposed to the scorching sun every day, so even though it was noon, the temperature inside 1802 was still frighteningly high. Looking at the fabric sofa that was so dirty that it was almost reflective, Lin Qianhuan really didn’t dare to sit down. She casually took out a folding stool and placed it in front of Jiang Minhhui’s door.

Sitting with her legs bent, she secretly stuffed two pieces of ice into her mouth, which made her feel a little better.

There were three bedrooms in 1802, but two more were partitioned off in the open space of the living room, so there weren’t a few tenants. Two couples lived in the sunny master bedroom and secondary bedroom respectively, while Jiang Minhhui lived in the shady bedroom. The doors of the two bedrooms in the living room were tightly closed, and amorous sounds of men and women making love came from one of the rooms.

The sound insulation of 1802 was not good, or rather, there was none at all. Lin Qianhuan squatted at the door of the bedroom, feeling like she was sitting on pins and needles. The glass door of the only bathroom had a large hole in it, which was simply patched with cardboard, and the stench kept pouring out. Combined with the extremely high temperature in the room, the smell was unimaginable.

Lin Qianhuan sighed faintly. Even with a room to herself, the living conditions still weren’t very good. In addition, the bedroom door was just a thin wooden door, which could be kicked open with one foot, as if it were written with the words “Come steal me.”

After waiting anxiously for a long time, Lin Qianhuan heard the sound of a key being inserted into the lock.

Jiang Minhhui dragged her tired body home, her face a little pale, and sweat dripping down.
