ILSITM Chapter 71
by REX-NOVELISTSThere are no horns allowed in the community, it’s clearly stated. I had to stop this serious disturbance of the peace. It’s part of my duty as a community security guard. I immediately walked out of the guardhouse.
“Hello ma’am, horns are not allowed in our community. You’re disturbing the peace,” I said, approaching the car and addressing the person honking inside.
“You little security guard, go stand at attention at the front gate and open the barrier in advance. Mind your own business,” a gaudily dressed woman in the driver’s seat glared at me and said.
“I don’t want to argue with this kind of unreasonable woman. Forget it, I’ll ignore her. She’ll stop eventually when she’s tired,” I thought, turning and walking towards the gate.
I had just stepped back into the guardhouse when the horn stopped.
Soon, a car drove from inside the community towards the gate, and I opened the barrier in advance.
But strangely, the car didn’t drive out. Instead, it pulled over to the side.
Through the guardhouse window, I could see that it was the same luxury car driven by the woman who had been honking earlier. What was she doing stopped by the gate?
I walked out of the guardhouse and was about to ask when a hand reached out from the car, pointing a finger at me.
“Honey, that’s the short, skinny little security guard who was meddling,” a woman said from inside the car.
“Little security guard, just because you’re wearing a mask today doesn’t mean I can’t recognize you! Are you some kind of unkillable Cheng Yaojin?” The rear window of the car rolled down, revealing a ferociousface.
I didn’t say anything. I didn’t expect the big guy who had hit “me” twice before to be in this woman’s car today.
I turned to go back to the guardhouse when I heard the man in the car curse, “Worthless coward!”
I didn’t turn around and continued walking towards the guardhouse.
“You stop right there!” The big guy seemed to be getting out of the car. I heard the slam of a car door.
My hand was just about to push open the slightly ajar door of the guardhouse when I heard this roar. I turned to look and saw that the big guy had gotten out of the car and was walking towards me.
At this moment, I was faced with a dilemma, not knowing whether to go into the guardhouse or not.
I thought about it and decided to go inside after all. Although the guardhouse wasn’t a fortress, it still had a door and windows.
If I stood at the entrance, judging by his posture, he would definitely attack me. If I fought back, it wouldn’t be appropriate since I was on duty.
Of course, there was also the fact that I wasn’t confident I could beat him.
He was over six feet tall, with a thick waist and broad shoulders. He was clearly a trained fighter.
Although I used to be a special forces soldier, standing at about five foot eight with well-developed muscles, agility, and high martial arts skills, my body wasn’t my own anymore. I was now inhabiting the body of a security guard.
The security guard I was in was only about five foot three, short and skinny. His height, strength, and agility were all greatly reduced.
After I got into the guardhouse, I closed and locked the door.
The big guy kicked the guardhouse door open.
He staggered in, reeking of alcohol.
Suddenly, I instinctively pushed open the unlocked sliding window, quickly jumped onto the windowsill, and jumped out through the half-open window.
The big guy didn’t expect me to jump out of the window, and even less did he expect me to be so agile. After all, he had been drinking and was a bit slow to react. His outstretched hand was just a fraction of an inch away from grabbing me.
I jumped out of the window not because I was afraid of him, but because I thought this was a workplace, and I didn’t want the monitoring equipment and barrier control system to be damaged.
After I jumped out of the window, I didn’t run towards the street. Instead, I ran towards the inside of the community. After all, I was on duty. I was a community security guard, and I couldn’t abandon my post.
The community wasn’t large. There were only two high-rise buildings of twenty-something stories and six multi-story buildings of six stories each in the yard.
I started running around the community, not too fast and not too slow.
I knew I couldn’t avoid this fight, so why was I running around the buildings in the community?
I was actually using the running to warm up. Only by getting my body moving could I better use my strength, speed, and martial arts skills.
The big guy wasn’t good at running, and he had drunk a lot of alcohol, so he couldn’t run at all. He got into the car and followed me.
No matter how fast I ran, I definitely couldn’t outrun his car. Of course, I wasn’t running that fast either, but his car never caught up with me.
Why didn’t his car catch up with me? Mainly because the roads in the community had speed bumps installed every few dozen meters. The car couldn’t go fast even if it wanted to.
The big guy sat in the car and yelled every time he went over a speed bump, “Worthless coward, run faster! Run yourself to death! Let’s see how long you can run!”
When I was serving in the Marine Corps, I once ran over seventy miles continuously for ten hours, which shows how good my endurance is.
But now I’m inhabiting the body of this security guard. After running for two or three kilometers, my body couldn’t take it anymore. I started panting. My spirit was willing, but my body was weak. I had to stop.
Of course, I didn’t want to keep running anyway. After all, I just wanted to use the running to warm up.
I stopped and stood on the side of the road.
The woman stopped the car on the speed bump.
The big guy got out of the car and slammed the door shut with a “bang”.
I stood there motionless, waiting for him to get closer to me – the closer the better.
“Worthless coward, why aren’t you running anymore? Your end is near,” the big guy walked towards me.
To deal with this big guy, I could only use one move to subdue him.
Of course, a weak person like “me” couldn’t subdue such a tall and powerful man with one move, but my one move had to hit him hard.
I stood there, lowered my head, and glanced at him out of the corner of my eye.
I didn’t adopt any fighting stance. I thought that at this time, having no stance was better than having a stance. I wanted him to think that I didn’t know martial arts and wouldn’t actively attack him, so that he would underestimate me. This would allow my one-move subdual to exert its maximum power.
A short and skinny person like me has to maximize strengths and avoid weaknesses, and take advantage of being short.
Shortness is originally a disadvantage, how can it become an advantage?
When short people fight tall people, they can’t keep their distance. Tall people have long arms and long legs. If you keep your distance from them, you’ll only get beaten. Moreover, this big guy is proficient in boxing and Sanda. If you’re not beaten to death, it’s likely that the Bodhisattva has come to protect you.
Therefore, to deal with this big guy, I’m going to use Nine Lives Fist.
