“The reason I appeared at the clubhouse that day was because I discovered something.”

Zhao Xiaoshan’s eyes were dazed as he began to recall what he had seen.

It was a dark room, and inside sat an old man with white hair, speaking respectfully to someone behind a screen.

“How’s the search going?” The person who asked the question had a hoarse and aged voice, likely an old man.

“Still searching. It’s different now than before; we’re under a lot of restrictions. Don’t worry, I will definitely find them for you as soon as possible.”

“I’ll give you three days,” the person behind the screen said.

Zhao Xiaoshan recognized the seated old man; it was their Fourth Grandpa, someone even their boss usually didn’t dare to look at directly.

Yet, now he was answering the person behind the screen with such fear and caution.

“I overheard the conversation between Fourth Grandpa and that person, and they wanted to silence me.”

“Did you hear what they were planning to do?” Lei Yun asked.

Zhao Xiaoshan said, “It seemed to be about children, something about yin years.”

“You couldn’t hear clearly and were discovered.”

“What’s with the Gu on you?” Lei Yun asked again.

“Gu?” Zhao Dashan looked at Lei Yun in confusion, clearly unaware of this.

“Before you passed out, didn’t you feel an unbearable pain, like your heart was being cut with a knife?” Yuechan explained.

Upon hearing this, Zhao Dashan nodded repeatedly:

“Yes, I was running just fine, and suddenly my heart started hurting badly, and then I fainted.

When I woke up, I was here with you.”

“It seems he didn’t even know when he was inflicted with the Gu!” Yuechan said.

“Tell me about your connection to the clubhouse, what you were doing there, what you were investigating, and about the Four Seas Gang,” Lei Yun said.

Zhao Xiaoshan paused slightly and slowly said, “My work is confidential; some things I can’t say.”

Hearing this, Atai scoffed with a cigarette in his mouth, turned around, made a phone call, and asked, “Which department do I belong to?”

Zhao Xiaoshan looked at Atai in surprise, his fists clenched tightly at his sides, clearly contemplating whether to tell him.

Seeing this, Atai pulled out a document from his pants pocket and threw it to Zhao Dashan.

Zhao Xiaoshan looked at the document that resembled theirs, opened it, and was utterly bewildered.

Seeing him like this, Atai said to the other end of the phone, “This matter involves your side; you investigate our matters. We’ll just handle the cleanup.”

The person on the other end nodded repeatedly, expressing their willingness.

Hanging up the phone, Atai walked to Zhao Dashan’s side, bent over, his face parallel to Zhao Dashan’s seated body, the smoke from his mouth swirling around Zhao Dashan, and said, “How about it? Can you talk now? Just now, you greeted our smallest leader.”

Zhao Xiaoshan looked at the document in his hand. He had heard his superiors talk about it before, but this was the first time he had seen it.

In their future actions, if they encountered someone holding a Spiritual Office document, they had to cooperate fully.

“I’ll talk,” Zhao Xiaoshan said with a deep sigh.

“You’ve been undercover at the clubhouse for three years. You’re a newly graduated police officer. Three years ago, someone reported that their child was missing. You searched through all the clues and found that they pointed to the clubhouse.”

“My colleagues went to search, but found nothing. Just then, an order came from above to arrange for someone to go undercover inside the clubhouse, or rather, to go undercover within the Four Seas Gang.”

“Over the years, you’ve passed on some messages, but you’ve always been inquiring about the news of those children. You went from being an entry-level employee to joining the clubhouse, joining the Four Seas Gang, and becoming a big brother next to Seventh Brother, and you also gathered some information.”

“The Four Seas Gang is looking for children born in yin years, and it seems they also look at certain birthdates.”

“These children, both male and female, some from wealthy families, some from poor families, are all of a young age.”

Zhao Xiaoshan lowered his head somewhat frustratedly and continued, “My position is low, so I haven’t been able to come into contact with many things. I’ve only gathered this much information for now. On that day, I finally managed to overhear Fourth Grandpa’s words, and I was caught. Although I was interrupted, I’m sure that Fourth Grandpa is looking for those children, and the person behind the screen ordered him to find them within three days.”

“Children born in yin years?” Lei Yun looked at Chen Jing in confusion.

Chen Jing’s expression was icy, clearly also thinking about this matter.

“In that case, the Gu on you should have been placed when you joined the clubhouse.”

Zhao Dashan said, “You don’t know this, but you were quite lucky at the time. You joined the Four Seas Gang very quickly after joining the clubhouse.”

“Joining the gang requires drinking the gang’s alliance wine.”

“The problem may lie there,” Yuechan said, “I heard from Grandma that in the past, many gangs liked to have people take Gu after joining the gang in order to control them, to facilitate later rule.”

These words made Lei Yun and Atai’s expressions turn cold.

“That Heart-Piercing Gu is very rare; I didn’t expect the Four Seas Gang to be so unusual.”

Hearing this, Atai walked to the side, made a phone call, and instructed the people on the other end to investigate the Four Seas Gang.

Lei Yun then remembered and picked up the photo that had been placed with Chen Jing and handed it to Zhao Dashan, “Do you recognize him?”

Zhao Xiaoshan stared at the photo for a long time and said uncertainly, “He should be Shang Ziming, the incense master here.”

Incense master refers to the person in charge of the gang on that day.

Since he has such a high status here, presumably there is news about him online.

Lei Yun turned on his phone to search, but there was no news at all.

“Shang Ziming is a very low-key person; the matters of the clubhouse are all arranged by his subordinate Fang Xu.”

“He usually stays by Fourth Grandpa’s side and rarely sees strangers.”

Deng Qiusheng said at the time that this person was extremely special. Now it seems that this person is indeed not simple, an ordinary person actually carries something that wards off evil spirits, and is also an incense master of the Four Seas Gang who possesses the Heart-Piercing Gu.

But what are they looking for children born in yin years for?

This made Lei Yun very curious.

“Who is Fourth Grandpa?” Lei Yun continued to ask.

Zhao Xiaoshan thought for a while and said, “Fourth Grandpa is what we call him; he rarely appears at the clubhouse. Even when he does come, he is protected by many people. We rarely come into contact with him, and we haven’t found out any information about him.”

“Old Lei, I have to leave first. Yuechan will go with you too. Let’s contact each other later!” Atai suddenly said, his whole face heavy.

“The people who bought the coffin have been found; those people are all dead.”

“I have to rush over to investigate this matter now. I’ll leave this kid with you. I’ll protect him from being caught by the Four Seas Gang.”

Lei Yun was silent for a while and slowly nodded, “Okay, contact me later. If there’s any news about the yin year children, notify me immediately.”

Atai nodded and walked out with Yuechan.

“Sister Chen, Innkeeper Lei, we’ll see you in a couple of days!” Yuechan said goodbye to the two with a smile.
