PF Chapter 2
by REX-NOVELISTSListening to the radio broadcast, Zhang Ze didn’t know how to react.
Had my world changed in just a few hours? Become unreal?
Zhang Ze slapped himself hard, his hands trembling uncontrollably.
Li Xiao’s last smile lingered in his mind, those prey eyes.
And that monster called a Pseudo-Human, with a human appearance, but like a devil.
His mind was still filled with the images he saw in novels, of Southeast Asian Witches controlling big zombies, and the madman with an iron pot on his head, who could launch peas.
Driving towards his hometown, a phone call came.
My tense nerves were startled by the phone. I picked up the phone and saw it was my colleague, Li Yun.
“Zhang Ze, have you seen my brother?”
The voice on the other end of the phone was Li Xiao’s older brother, Li Yun, who could be said to be my direct superior.
After briefly explaining the situation, he requested to come to his house.
“Come on over.”
Before he finished speaking, I rushed to his house.
“Attention, residents, latest news, before a Pseudo-Human replaces someone, it will completely mimic all of that person’s behavior.”
“And they have extremely strong learning abilities. After a short period of learning, they can master most of the conventional behaviors that most people can do.”
“Some Pseudo-Humans will immediately use their mobile phones and other means to attack their closest people.”
“Including family, friends, and anyone the replaced person can contact.”
……
I quickly arrived at the residential complex where Li Yun lived.
The sky also darkened the moment I entered the residential complex.
Darkness tinged with red, shone on the car, the whole world shrouded in an eerie atmosphere.
Looking at the scene before me, I felt my head spinning. A moment later, I shook my head, feeling everything return to normal.
The sky has always been like this, hasn’t it?
I quickly arrived at Li Yun’s house. After getting out of the car, I saw Li Yun enthusiastically greeting me.
“Good friend, you’re finally here.”
Li Yun opened his arms and walked towards me.
I also hugged him.
Zhang Ze followed the sound and looked up. When he saw the person, he stood up abruptly.
“Don’t come over.”
He looked at them in horror, his body trembling uncontrollably.
“Zhang Ze, we haven’t seen each other for so long, I won’t bother you.”
After speaking, he patted the shoulder of the person next to him and walked towards the kitchen.
Usually so rough and alone, when did he become so effeminate?
And that person next to Li Yun was actually Li Xiao.
However, the current Li Xiao was very normal, just like when he first met me, greeting me.
“Zhang Ze, what are you doing here?”
I had retreated to the corner, my body shaking for some reason.
“You, don’t come over.”
I grabbed the utility shovel and pointed it at him.
And he stopped when he was only two meters away from me, looking at me playfully.
“I, I.”
Zhang Ze paused, “Yeah, what am I doing?”
“Xiao Ze, quickly wash your hands and get ready to eat.”
A female voice came, it was Li Yun’s wife.
At this moment, the sound from the television came out.
……
Zhang Ze sat at the table, everything seemed so beautiful…
No, Zhang Ze desperately shook his head, trying to clear his head.
But, hasn’t it always been like this?
Everything before me was so beautiful, I wanted to integrate into it all.
Zhang Ze gave him his phone before going to sleep.
He seemed to ask me something, but I couldn’t hear him clearly.
No, it wasn’t just a book, everything around was red, spreading from the table to the ground.
I got up and took the paper off the book. The book was sticky, and I disgustedly shook my hand.
I walked towards the door, but my head spun, and my body fell over with inertia.
“Ah.”
I covered my injured leg, looked at the book that touched the wound. The pain made me feel a moment of clarity.
Something flashed before my eyes, just glancing at the piece of paper I had thrown away.
Under the blood-soaked paper, most of the words were illegible, but, a few more conspicuous words pieced together a sentence.
“Run, don’t get lost, don’t * , don’t…”
At this moment, the door was slammed shut by the wind, the half-open door creaking, the sound echoing in the empty room, a figure appeared in front of the door.
I woke up instantly, the sweat on my body dried up in an instant, all the hairs on my body standing on end.
I didn’t dare to look up, my body collapsed on the ground, unable to move, and not daring to move.
“Weng kakakakakaka…dong”
The automatically closed door was kicked open, the sound echoing in the room.
Footsteps gradually approached.
8 meters
“What to do, what to do.”
6 meters
“My body can’t move, what to do? What to do.”
3 meters
“It’s over!” Tears flowed from my eyes, my upper and lower teeth chattering non-stop.
1 meter
Looking at the feet in front of me, I felt suffocated for a moment, fear filling me. A hand reached out to my face, grabbing my face.
“Am I, pretty?”
Li Xiao’s face showed a kind smile, infinitely magnified in the darkness.
“Speak.” He picked up my hand and examined it carefully, as if admiring it.
The hand that originally looked a little stiff, also began to become flexible.
Like rubber, slowly changing, finally the hand became very similar to mine.
He put my hand and his hand together, as if comparing them.
“You, who are you?”
After saying this, everything seemed to be paused.
“You saw it.” His face moved closer to mine.
“I see it, I see it.” He kept repeating this sentence.
