TSM Chapter 65
by REX-NOVELISTSThe dry soil became increasingly damp the deeper they went. Scattered bones littered the ground, none of them complete, looking as though they had been gnawed by wild animals. “Do game props have to be this realistic now?” Huang Tingguang asked, covering his nose and mouth.
“Yeah… weren’t you a policeman?” Zuǒ Yú tilted his head, a hint of disdain in his eyes.
He had felt something was strange earlier. Normally, corpses turning into bones over time wouldn’t produce such a strong stench. Now, combined with the blood, it indicated that the fragmented bones here weren’t formed naturally; some kind of predator must be lurking.
His gaze fell on the 98K loosely held in Huang Tingguang’s arms, and his expression changed drastically as he suddenly remembered, “Check my electronic ID card, slowly!”
Huang Tingguang was startled by his sudden shout, and he involuntarily followed his instructions, taking out the electronic card. He then looked at him puzzled. “What’s wrong? Nothing’s changed!”
Zuǒ Yú closed his eyes, frustratedly slamming his fist against the stone wall. He snatched the gun from his arms, examining it carefully. “This isn’t a game-set area. Logically, finding the prop should display something on the electronic card. And this gun… it’s fake, and the person died not long ago.”
Huang Tingguang looked back at the path he had already traveled, gritted his teeth, and stomped his foot, finally following him. He cautiously stuck close behind Zuǒ Yú, barely daring to breathe. The brief darkness soon gave way to faint light, and the anxiety in his heart eased slightly.
But before he could completely lower his guard, he was stunned by the scene outside the cave at the corner. A little white bear was intently gnawing on a corpse that was only half-eaten. Blood flowed down the stone wall in large quantities, his organs churning. Intestines were torn back and forth in the white bear’s mouth as it ate with relish. Zhào Fǔ’s head was dangling from his neck, and his pale face and wide eyes stared directly at them. Huang Tingguang turned around and uncontrollably vomited, collapsing weakly to the ground, his expression dazed.
Thinking of this, looking at the person who had been gnawed to almost only a head, Zuǒ Yú decisively chambered a bullet and aimed at the white bear’s head with a precise strike. “Bang!” A headshot. “Bang!” Another shot to the head. “Bang!” He blasted the white bear’s head into pieces before putting away his gun.
In a moment, Huang Tingguang almost crawled out of the cave, staggering and collapsing in front of Zuǒ Yú, muttering with a cry in his voice, “What the hell is going on!”
“But… now many people know our hunter identities, it’s all my fault!”
Zuǒ Yú pulled him up, not caring at all. “Let’s go!”
On the steep hillside, they groped around, finding a soil path covered with dead grass. Sure enough, if someone had done it deliberately, there must be a way to walk.
Successfully coming down, Zuǒ Yú estimated the approximate position of the wellhead, moving in a silent pace, crossing a light mist, and pushing aside several withered grasses higher than his head. Xīn Zǐmò, holding a wooden stick that didn’t match her at all, was biased towards them. Seeing that he was going, she sucked in a breath, and the wooden stick instantly slipped. With tears in her eyes, she ran to Zuǒ Yú’s front and pulled at his sleeve.
“I heard gunshots coming from the well. What happened?” she asked nervously, her eyes full of concern.
“So the gun was real? You guys…”
“Looking for props!” Zuǒ Yú interrupted again, seemingly not wanting to tell her what had just happened, afraid that she would be as fearful as Huang Tingguang was now.
Before hearing this broadcast information, all the players couldn’t help but look at the “partner” standing next to them at the moment, lingering fear, each with their own ghosts…
