Zhu Xique didn’t know Zhou Wu wasn’t chasing her at all.

After fleeing for her life into Xiang City, she was almost completely exhausted.

The Zhu family had money, and Zhu Zenglian had quite a bit of influence among officials and in the Jianghu before his death. Although the officials weren’t interested in a dead man, the Jianghu was different.

There were many heroes who valued loyalty, and as the Zhu family spread the word, many Jianghu heroes gathered.

A dozen or so warriors of various appearances rode healthy horses and chased after her.

The Zhu family offered a generous reward, so the dozen or so people gradually spread out along the road.

After a day, the person running in the lead could already see the ox cart in the distance.

As dusk fell, a fast horse caught up to the ox cart.

The man dismounting the horse was a sturdy fellow in his thirties, holding a long saber, using the tip of the saber to poke around the straw on the ox cart.

Liang Nv hugged Dog Paw and lowered her head, afraid to speak.

Seeing that it was impossible to hide anyone in the cart, the man used his saber to lift Liang Nv’s chin, forcing her to look up.

“Where is he?”

“I don’t know.”

The tip of the saber gradually pierced into Liang Nv’s throat, a trickle of blood flowing into her clothes.

Liang Nv stubbornly glared at him, keeping her mouth tightly shut.

The man sneered, and just as the saber in his hand was about to thrust forward.

Suddenly, in the dim light, there seemed to be a sharp whistling sound, he suspiciously turned his head to look.

A black shadow flashed by.

The sturdy man looked down at his chest.

A shield tip stained with blood protruded from his chest.

His body swayed, and he fell headfirst from the horse.

Zhou Wu retrieved his long shield, dismounted, glanced at Liang Nv, and disappeared into the darkness with a pull of the reins.

Liang Nv stared blankly into the night.

Dog Paw raised his head, his big eyes shining, without fear, only envy and longing.

The ox cart continued to move forward, the old ox no longer needing control, letting its instincts guide it, slowly plodding along.

This time, Liang Nv no longer lowered her head, her eyes gleaming in the moonlight, calmly facing the two men holding weapons.

“Where is he?”

Liang Nv looked behind him.

“He’s behind you.”

The man suddenly turned his head, while simultaneously flipping the long spear in his hand, the spearhead facing forward.

Silence under the moonlight, empty, nothing there.

The two men scanned around again, still nothing.

Speaking, he turned the long spear in his hand, slowly stabbing towards the Dog Paw in Liang Nv’s arms.

Dog Paw was not afraid, staring at the other person.

Liang Nv pointed to the man’s rear and said, “The fake one is behind you.”

The other person shouted: “Don’t listen to her nonsense, kill them first and then find him.”

The man also sneered: “It’s good that he’s behind me, I’ll call him out to save my life.”

The spear accelerated, and just as the spear tip was about to pierce Dog Paw’s chest, it suddenly froze.

The man’s sneering face turned into astonishment, staring blankly at his partner, a shield tip protruding from his wide-open mouth.

The other person immediately pulled the reins, bypassed the ox head and rushed over, wielding a mace in his hand, waving it around, shouting loudly.

Zhou Wu abandoned his long shield, reached back and pulled out his long saber, leaping out from behind the horse.

The healthy horse released its four hooves and charged forward, Zhou Wu tilted his body to the side, waving the long saber, cutting off the horse’s two hind legs.

The man wielding the mace tumbled from the horse, and before he could get up from the ground, Zhou Wu’s long saber had already swept across his neck.

The baleful aura in Zhou Wu’s body was full, the numbers on his forehead had become 1024, his whole body’s muscles and bones were twisting, feeling unparalleled swelling.

Just now, when leaping from a distance, he felt his body was light, his movements silent, only hearing the wind whistling in his ears.

The man facing away from him had no sense of it.

This time, Zhou Wu no longer hid, riding the horse behind the ox cart, slowly moving forward.

After about half a quarter of an hour, hurried hoofbeats sounded behind him.

These people, whether for the generous reward or for righteousness, were chasing so urgently under the moonlight.

Zhou Wu waved his hand to signal Liang Nv to continue forward, and with a pull of the reins, he stood in the middle of the road, calmly watching the route ahead.

Before long, amidst the flying dust, four healthy horses appeared, scattered across the field.

When they saw one person and one horse ahead, the four people each reined in their horses, quickly surrounding him in a fan shape.

Zhou Wu’s eyesight was now able to distinguish the appearances of the people in the dark night. After observing for a moment, he made a plan for his attack.

First the strong, then the weak, choosing the guy in the middle to attack first.

When the four people were still twenty meters away from him, Zhou Wu took a deep breath.

It was precisely the person in the middle who stopped his horse and shouted in a low voice.

“Hey, you are…”

Where would Zhou Wu wait for him to speak, he suddenly sprang up from the horse, drawing a white line in the moonlight, flashing past.

While others were still waiting to speak, Zhou Wu had already leaped forward.

Twenty meters, plus the length of the long shield, in the blink of an eye, the man in the middle had not yet raised the weapon in his hand, and the shield tip had already pierced his throat.

Zhou Wu’s body floated to the left, and the person on the left hurriedly swung the iron rod horizontally, swinging it around.

And the person on the left rode his horse towards Zhou Wu.

The man was shocked, raised the saber in his hand, and slashed at Zhou Wu with a sideways movement of his body.

This person’s reaction was considered fast.

Zhou Wu rushed forward, the long shield blocked the saber, and when flying over the horse’s back, he released the long shield and punched the opponent in the throat.

With a cracking sound, Zhou Wu had already flown towards another knight amidst the sound of bone breaking.

In mid-air, the long saber behind his back was unsheathed, slashing towards the opponent’s neck like a bolt of lightning.

The opponent was prepared, although surprised by Zhou Wu’s speed, he had already crossed his double sabers in front of him, while simultaneously urging his horse to dodge into the distance.

The three sabers clashed in the air, Zhou Wu didn’t care at all that the opponent’s saber was stabbing towards his body. When landing from the air, he stepped on the opponent’s horse’s back with one foot.

And one of the opponent’s sabers blocked his long saber, and the other saber pierced into his lower abdomen.

He put all his energy into this, because he believed that under such great force, it would be difficult for the opponent to make any other movements.

He could already feel Zhou Wu’s abdomen being turned into minced meat by his saber.

If he didn’t die like this, unless the other party was a god.
