ABMB Chapter 12
by REX-NOVELISTSBai Wu still turned on his phone. No matter what, he had to call Cheng Miao over first. Cheng Miao relied mainly on his brain, and his strength wasn’t great. If Bai Wu wasn’t around and he really encountered a Demonic Beast, Bai Wu wouldn’t be at ease leaving him alone.
But before Bai Wu’s music could even play, a girl’s scream suddenly came from beside him.
Bai Wu was so startled that he shivered. Just as he looked over, someone beside him bumped into him, and he lost his grip on his phone, which fell to the ground.
He stumbled forward a few steps from the impact.
He couldn’t help but shout “Damn it!” As he tried to look down and find his phone, their flashlights suddenly all went out.
In the pitch darkness, a huge shadow suddenly passed not far from them, the ground seemed to tremble, accompanied by the sound of an infant’s cry.
Instantly, not only the girls but also the boys screamed. The scene descended into chaos.
Bai Wu roared, “Calm down! Calm down!”
But no one paid any attention to him. Someone, he didn’t know who, started running in the opposite direction from the monster, and everyone else followed.
Bai Wu hesitated for two seconds, then followed behind them. With so many people, if they really encountered danger, he wouldn’t be able to explain it later.
Bai Wu leaned against a tree, gasping for breath. The other kids weren’t doing much better, lying sprawled on the ground.
Seeing this, Bai Wu couldn’t help but say, “You guys want to explore like this? Better go back early. Don’t ever go to this place again.”
Zhou Xun retorted, “You’re telling us? Didn’t you run with us too!”
He would send them down first, and then he would go find Cheng Miao.
He had seen the shadow of that monster just now, but it was strange. With so many people and such a commotion, it shouldn’t have been able to avoid noticing them.
If it was a YiShou, why would it ignore so many people and just walk straight past?
But such a large shadow didn’t seem like any other kind of animal either.
But now his phone and flashlight were both lost. It would take a lot of effort to find them in such a big forest.
The girl with glasses was silent for a long time before saying, “Let’s go back first. I haven’t gotten the answer I need yet, I can’t leave.”
Everyone was shocked, and even Zhou Xun tried to dissuade her: “Isn’t it obvious? Your brother was scared by that monster.”
If the monster my brother encountered was the same one, maybe it’s not as dangerous as we think.”
She hit the nail on the head. Bai Wu also felt that the monster just wanted to scare them away.
If the situation weren’t so unusual, Bai Wu would have praised her, but now, he could only patiently advise, “These are just your guesses. What if it’s really dangerous?
Can you, alone, defeat it? Think carefully, if you die, then everything is over.”
As she spoke, she turned back.
Seeing this, Zhou Xun followed her: “I’ll go with you. If we encounter danger, two people are better than one.”
Bai Wu’s eyes widened suddenly. A million alpacas galloped through his mind. He wondered if they could stop adding to his troubles at a time like this.
Fortunately, the other students obediently went back. Bai Wu had no choice but to follow the two of them.
Zhou Xun was surprised to see that he had followed them too: “Weren’t you going back?”
“I have to find my partner first.”
The two of them didn’t say anything else upon hearing that.
After walking for a while, Bai Wu asked, “By the way, why are you so determined to investigate what happened here?”
Bai Wu’s mind raced: “Because that’s ultimately their family matter. I don’t want to interfere. Nor do I dare to ask too much.”
“I see,” she said, looking at the road ahead, her voice low, “My brother has been locking himself in his room lately, huddled in a corner, afraid of everyone.
My parents, because he hadn’t eaten for too long, tried to break down the door, which scared him so much that he almost jumped out of the window. Fortunately, there was a security window, so he didn’t fall.
Before that, my parents and I took turns staying by my brother’s side. He only got a little better a week ago.”
“Then what can you do even if you find out what happened? Your brother is already traumatized.”
“I know, but I always want to do something.”
